As America approaches its 250th anniversary, just a third of the public believes the American Dream still exists. The poll reveals the country’s perspective on its values, traditions, and culture as it reaches this milestone. Freedom is more likely to been named as the main thing unifying Americans while political values are cited as the primary source of division. Still, the American flag tends to be seen as a symbol of the country’s unity.
