Most say their financial situation is holding steady, but it’s tenuous

Most say their family’s financial situation is holding steady rather than falling behind or getting ahead. But, about half of Americans say the cost of groceries and housing are major sources of stress. Few are confident they could find a good job, pay an unexpected medical expense, have enough savings for retirement, or buy a new home if they wanted to.
